V-Bucks to USD Converter

Turn V-Bucks into dollars, or dollars into V-Bucks, at Epic's official prices. Then see what it costs in weeks of your child's allowance.

In short

How much do V-Bucks cost in 2026?

V-Bucks cost about 72 cents to $1.12 per 100, depending on the pack. Epic's official US prices are 800 V-Bucks for $8.99, 2,400 for $22.99, 4,500 for $36.99 and 12,500 for $89.99. Epic resized its packs in March 2026, so the smallest pack now has 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000.

Because you can only buy whole packs, what an item really costs depends on how many V-Bucks your child already has. Enter the V-Bucks price below to see the cheapest packs and what it adds up to in weeks of allowance. Prices checked September 2026.

Worth two weeks of allowance? Let them decide

On their own phone or tablet, your child sees their allowance balance and takes on quests designed to show how money can grow in the Penny Time app. You set the allowance and approve each cash-out request.

V-Bucks prices in 2026

These are Epic's four standard V-Bucks packs at US prices. The same four packs appear in the Fortnite app on the US App Store and on the Epic Games Store.

Price V-Bucks Per 100 V-Bucks
$8.99800$1.12
$22.992,400$0.96
$36.994,500$0.82
$89.9912,500$0.72

Bigger packs cost less per V-Buck: $1.12 per 100 in the 800 pack and $0.72 in the 12,500 pack. That only saves money if your child would have spent all of those V-Bucks anyway. Fortnite Crew, Epic's monthly subscription, is listed at $11.99 on the US App Store, and like any subscription it keeps renewing until someone cancels it.

One platform catch: Epic says V-Bucks bought on the Epic Games Store can't be redeemed or used on Nintendo Switch.

V-Bucks to USD: common amounts

Items and passes are priced in V-Bucks, but you can only buy whole packs. Here is the cheapest way to get at least each amount, starting from zero.

V-Bucks needed Cheapest packs Cost
800800$8.99
1,000800 + 800$17.98
1,500800 + 800$17.98
2,0002,400$22.99
2,8002,400 + 800$31.98
5,0004,500 + 800$45.98
10,00012,500$89.99

$252,4002,400
$505,3004,500 + 800
$10013,30012,500 + 800

Two small packs sometimes beat one big one. If your child needs 1,500 V-Bucks, two 800 packs ($17.98) cost less than one 2,400 pack ($22.99), even though the bigger pack is cheaper per V-Buck.

Is it worth it? How to talk about V-Bucks by age

The converter turns a price in V-Bucks into something your child already understands: their own allowance. Here is how to use it at each age.

Talk about it

  • Ages 6 to 8: Say it in allowance, not V-Bucks. "That is one week of your allowance" makes sense, "800 V-Bucks" does not. Keep buys small and rare, and wait a day before buying.
  • Ages 9 to 12: Let them run the converter and make the call. Talk about the V-Bucks left over when the pack is bigger than the item, and whether they will still use the item in a month.
  • Ages 13 and up: Agree a monthly game budget and let them manage it, subscriptions included. Ask whether a bigger pack is a deal or just more to spend.

How to limit V-Bucks spending

Epic Games parental controls

Sign in to your child's Epic account in the Epic Account Portal (the settings can also be changed inside Fortnite). Under Purchasing Permissions, turn on Require a PIN for Epic Games Payments, so your Parental Controls PIN is needed for any Epic payment. You can also turn off Allow Paid Random Items where that setting appears. For children under 13, Epic payments above $100 a day need your PIN. The PIN does not cover payments made through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or Steam, and it does not stop your child spending V-Bucks they already have.

Apple Ask to Buy (iPhone and iPad)

With Family Sharing set up, open Settings, tap Family, tap your child's name, then Apps & Websites, Restrictions, Ask to Buy, and turn on Require Purchase Approval. Each in-app purchase, V-Bucks included, then sends you a request to approve or decline.

Google Play purchase approvals (Android)

In the Family Link app, pick your child, then Controls, Google Play, Purchases & download approvals, and choose what needs your approval (for example, in-app purchases only). It only covers purchases made through Google Play's own billing.

Each control only sees purchases made through its own store. If your child plays on a console, set the spending controls on that console too.
