Robux to USD Converter

Turn Robux into dollars, or dollars into Robux, at official prices. Then see what it costs in weeks of your child's allowance.

In short

How much are Robux in US dollars?

Robux cost about 1 cent each. 1,000 Robux are $9.99 when you buy on a computer, in a web browser or with a Roblox gift card, and bigger packs get cheaper per Robux, down to $199.99 for 24,000 (about 0.83 cents each). In the Roblox app on a phone, tablet or console, the same $9.99 gets 800 Robux, because Roblox gives up to 25% more Robux for computer, web and gift card purchases.

Cashing out works at a much lower rate. Creators who earn Robux can swap them for money through the Developer Exchange at $0.0038 each, and only once they are 13 and have 30,000 earned Robux. Robux your child buys can never be cashed out. Prices checked September 2026.

On their own phone or tablet, your child sees their allowance balance and takes on quests designed to show how money can grow in the Penny Time app. You set the allowance and approve each cash-out request.

Robux prices in 2026

These are the official US packs on Roblox's Buy Robux page. Roblox lists each pack at one price, but a computer, a web browser or a gift card gets you more Robux for it than the phone, tablet or console app.

Price Computer/gift card In the app Per 100 (computer)
$2.99270 Robux240 Robux$1.11

$199.9924,000 Robux22,500 Robux$0.83

Past the $20 packs, bigger packs cost less per Robux: about $1.00 per 100 in the small computer packs and $0.83 in the biggest. In the app, 100 Robux cost about $1.25 in the small packs and $0.89 in the biggest. A cheaper price per Robux only saves money if your child would have spent the extra Robux anyway.

Robux to USD: common amounts

You can only buy whole packs, so this is the cheapest way to get at least that many Robux. Sometimes a couple of packs beat one bigger pack, and you may end up with a few Robux left over.

What $10, $25 and $50 Roblox gift cards get

A Roblox gift card in dollars loads as Roblox Credit, and you turn that credit into Robux in a web browser at the computer price. That makes a gift card worth more Robux than the same money spent in the app.

Redeem cards at roblox.com/redeem in a browser. The regular mobile app and consoles can't redeem them (Samsung Galaxy phones are the one exception), and Roblox Credit can only be spent in a browser. A few cards, such as Amazon and Party Packs gift cards, load Robux instead of credit, and a card sold in Robux shows the amount on the card. Roblox does not refund gift cards.

Buying Robux vs cashing them out (DevEx)

Roblox has two very different rates, and it helps to keep them apart. One is what your family pays for Robux. The other is what Roblox pays a creator for Robux they earned by making a game or an item that people buy.

  • Buying: about 0.83 to 1.25 cents per Robux, depending on the pack and where you buy (US prices).
  • Cashing out: $0.0038 per earned Robux through the Developer Exchange, so the 30,000 minimum pays $114.
  • Who can cash out: creators 13 or older with 30,000 earned Robux, a verified email, a DevEx portal account and a W-9 or W-8 tax form.
  • What never counts: Robux bought with money or a gift card, and Robux from a monthly subscription.

That gap is worth showing your child. The cheapest way to buy 30,000 Robux on a computer is $257.96, while 30,000 earned Robux cash out for $114. Buying Robux is spending. The money goes to Roblox and doesn't come back. If your child dreams of earning on Roblox, it is a real path for a small number of creators, and a good opening to talk about how much harder money is to earn than to spend.

Is it worth it? How to talk about Robux by age

The converter's job is to turn a number in a game into a number your child already understands: their own allowance. Here is how to use it at each age.

Talk about it

  • Ages 6 to 8: Say it in allowance, not Robux. "That is one week of your allowance" makes sense, "800 Robux" does not. Keep buys small and rare, and wait a day before buying.
  • Ages 9 to 12: Let them run the converter and make the call. Talk about items they keep versus ones that get used up, and what happens to the leftover Robux when the pack is bigger than the item.
  • Ages 13 and up: Agree a monthly game budget and let them manage it. Show them the buying rate next to the DevEx rate and ask whether a bigger pack is a deal or just more to spend.

How to limit Robux spending

Roblox monthly spending limit

First link a parent account to your child's Roblox account (you need to be 18 or older and age-checked). Then, signed in as the parent, go to Settings, Parental controls, Spending restrictions, Monthly spending limit, enter an amount and select Update. The limit resets at the end of each calendar month. In most regions it is for children under 13, it doesn't cover gift card redemptions, and it may not apply on some consoles, so set Xbox limits on the Xbox itself. Linked parents get high-spend email alerts by default, and you can switch to an alert for every purchase.

Apple Ask to Buy (iPhone and iPad)

With Family Sharing set up, open Settings, tap Family, tap your child's name, then Apps & Websites, Restrictions, Ask to Buy, and turn on Require Purchase Approval. Each in-app purchase, Robux included, then sends you a request to approve or decline.

Google Play purchase approvals (Android)

In the Family Link app, pick your child, then Controls, Google Play, Purchases & download approvals, and choose what needs your approval (for example, in-app purchases only). It only covers purchases made through Google Play's own billing.

Each control only sees purchases made through its own store, so set the one that matches how your child actually pays.
